1 Nap
The fibrous surface given to a cloth such as seen on nap overcoats, flannels, flannelettes, etc. It is formed by scratching the cloth so that part of the fibre is raised from the body of the yarn. -
2 Nap Finish
A special finish to produce small curls on fabrics (see naps). The fibres are first raised vertically and then are rubbed into the form of small curls. -
